Do-thîyî Bî (/do/ /ˈʃɪjɪ/ [indigo] [sequence; order]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Íhiy̼ukèg County, Èjila Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Do-thîyî Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Do-thîyî Bî was founded by Patsy Trënmèj, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Do-thîyî Bî has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Do-thîyî Bî receives an average of 233 cm/y (91 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Do-thîyî Bî covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3724 m (12217 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Do-thîyî Bî was founded durring the early 14th century in fall of the year 1301, by Patsy Trënmèj. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Patsy Trënmèj.

Do-thîyî Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Do-thîyî Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Do-thîyî Bî is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt split-log ties streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Do-thîyî Bî's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The town's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

Do-thîyî Bî has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Do-thîyî Bî ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The people are clearly worried about something, and everyone is either wearing a weapon or has one close at hand. Your gut tells you it’s not mere fate which has caused this town to begin failing...

Civic Infrastructure

Do-thîyî Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Do-thîyî Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Do-thîyî Bî's parks.

Do-thîyî Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Do-thîyî Bî.

Do-thîyî Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Do-thîyî Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Do-thîyî Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Do-thîyî Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Do-thîyî Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Do-thîyî Bî's grid is powered by mana accumulators.

Do-thîyî Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Do-thîyî Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Do-thîyî Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Do-thîyî Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Do-thîyî Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

In Do-thîyî Bî hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.

The Witherweed near Do-thîyî Bî are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Do-thîyî Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves gestures to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 1 via recitation of poetic epics.
